If an author can elicit emotions from me because I’m so invested in a character, I know I’ve got a great book in my hands. When reading the book I would be so frustrated by the people of Godspeed and the way they were treating Elder. All the while Elder is trying to control the people and fix the ship and solve the mystery with Amy.
I loved the drastic change in the inhabitants of Godspeed from the first novel, where before they acted like drugged robots, they are now confronted with a wave of emotions which leads to riots and mutiny. However, Orion leaves Amy clues, which she solves with Elder. The antagonist in the novel is, until the last few chapters, a complete mystery! This person begins committing a spring of murders and blowing up parts of the ship to ensure that Orion’s secret doesn’t get put into action. I kept telling myself, just one more chapter, just one more chapter, and before I knew it I was almost finished with the book! I could not put this book down and ended up reading all through the night.
It was a story unlike anything I had read before and I was adequately intrigued.Ī Million Suns really picked up the pace and got the story rolling. The first novel was a book I really enjoyed, and it was a book that made me think and question myself in certain situations. I’m going to be honest and admit that, yes the covers of Across The Universe and A Million Suns are what attracted me to this series, however it’s Revis’ writing and plot that kept me coming back. But as the ship gets more and more out of control, only one thing is certain: They have to get off the ship.Īs you can see, I’ve decided to format my reviews a little differently, adding more useful and helpful information to the reader so that if you are interested in the books I review, you now have immediate access to them. Elder is trying to be the leader he’s always wanted to be. In that time, Amy has learned to hide who she is.
